Does anyone know if its possible to re-order PDM shortcuts that are added to Windows 10 'Quick Access' list? Standard Windows folder shortcuts can be re-ordered but I am unable to get PDM shortcuts to move.
Probably problem here.
I in Windows 7 have no such problems. Look in settings of Representation and search (Organize menu). If you find nothing - try any Tweaker - for example - Classic Shell.
Windows 7 doesn't have the Quick Access panel.
In the Windows 10, I can create PDM shortcuts in the Quick access.
Please RMB in the PDM folder and select order to "Quick access"
No issues adding to Quick Access, see my original post.
Yes we can all add pdm directories to PDM, we just cant re-order them in the quick access list.
Try this: Open File Explorer with Win + E. You should be able to reorder them now by dragging and dropping
This is a shot in the dark though....
Doesn't work for me on PDM shortcuts. Works for you?
No, Win +E behaves no differently.
Security on my machine doesn't actually allow me to put PDM folders in Quick Access at all so I couldn't test.
There is an idea.
If with simple labels the problems is not present - create any label, move it where it is necessary and replace in properties parth to PDM label.
Then rename as it is necessary.
However, I tried in Win7. I have now no time to try in Windows 10.
How on earth can you do that? the quick access list is not like a normal shortcut, the name and directory location cannot be edited as far as i can tell.
Correct, you can't change the name because it is NOT a shortcut. Windows 10 changed from being shortcuts to Quick Access which is a live link to that folder location. This made a lot of folks very unhappy.
PDM has permission on folder renames and such, so that could one issue, haven't tried it as we don't rename folders often.
You can manually reorder the selections in Quick Access by pull/drag, but be careful! You can accidentally move/copy folders underneath that folder. You want to wait for the horizontal bar to show up displaying the location in the tree before releasing it.
In windows 10 file explorer you cannot re- order the PDM directories you place there.however you can drag and drop normal directories between them.
I don't know why this is, but I would call it a shortcoming.
Delete them all and add them again in the order you want.
