I am new to the pdm world so I created a test folder in my vault today now I cant delete it, it turns grey
A grey folder indicates it's local only.
Essentially, the vault does not have a entry for that folder (no other users logged in the vault can see it) but some lack of permission is not allowing you to delete the folder locally.
do you have a suggestion on how to delete the folder. I am the admin so I need to know how, in case someone else does this
I can guess but be aware... it's a bit of a shot in the dark without looking at it.
I suspect the logged in Windows profile is lacking sufficient permission to manipulate the locally cached copy. Make sure the profile is given full windows permission to the cache folder. That's the most common reason I see for the behavior you're describing.
Second most common reason is some other process is hanging on to that folder (third party sync tool, AV, etc... conflicting with PDM) You can try to log out of the vault, exit the app, and re-log in to try and deleted it. You can also try to go into 'Work Offline' mode to see if you can delete the folder.
thank you for your help, I got it
Cool! Which one worked for you?
Try these user settings in EPDM user setting.
If nothing helps it is possible to try Unlocker - Free tool.
