Hello,
is there a way to disable pipes in BOM?
Also is there a way to set what minimum length of pipe can be shown in BOM?
Is there an option to group pipes in BOM to specified length (6m)?
for developers:
make parts snap to each other if the pipe between them is shorter than (custom specified) 2mm.
Damir,
1. No not by a 1 button press. You can hide pipes but you'll have to manually select them to be not-included/hidden in the BOM
2. No, not standard
3. No, not standard that I know of. Besides, normal piping practices is to mention the total length of pipe needed so that the one making it knows how many pipe lengths of a certain type/Ø/schedule etc.. they'll need. The other way that I know that some do is give how long each individual pipe piece has to be so that they can be pre-cut which means that one has to know with absolute certainty how long each fitting is at the moment of welding and how big the weld gap will be and that within a tight margin on the total length of a spoolpiece. The latter most likely means that they view piping as just another mechanical welding job and have no interest in actually using the methodology that is used by piping professionals for decades for good reason.
4. FYI, 0.002 = remove pipe (see also the 'remvoe pipe' command), in other words anything that size or smaller isn't viewed as being pipe and won't show up in the BOM. When I was thaught piping we learned to calculate to be 1mm precise, round it off to 5mm for dimensioning and then, where needed, add make length for the field welds. If 2mm or less is your issue, perhaps you should look into using weld gaps ?
If you have the opportunity then I would recommend to follow the piping course at your VAR. Even if they don't know anything about it, you should get some basic information to help you understand how it works.
Have a nice one
