That would be easy to do in SolidWorks, just would take a little time to draw - start with a spiral and use that line for your center line and draw in the rest..
Thats a good idea. Then draw 6 equally spaced lines outwards from the center point and then connect the dots!
very carefully....pick a plane sketch and trim and extend lines as needed. take about 2.3 min to do.
Without knowing your dimensions, I would probably do it like this...

There's a slight bug (?) in SW that causes problems if the helix is exactly the right size.. it works but messes with the sketch so I did 1 less pattern instance
It works by varying a 3d sketch up a tapered helix
The helix is set so that 1mm of vertical height equates to 45 degrees of rotation.
Offset planes in the 3d sketch intersect the helix and define the lines on the front plane for the extrude.
