Just installed 2019 on my Windows 7 computer. When I look at my Solidworks files in explorer and in the Solidworks open file window there are no icons showing the files belong to Solidworks. It used to with 2018. I can deal with it but, it was nice to see the icons.
Anybody else having this problem?
If I am not mistaken, I did not think that SW18 would not be supported by Win7. We have all but phased out Win7 as we are going to be going to SW18 at the end of this year if not earlier.
It is still supported til SW2020 SP5
2019 works fine in windows 7 except for the icons.
I use to love testing new systems and I got burned on vista and Windows 8. I have loved Win7. My personal laptop at home has Win10 now and been learning it at home so I can make the move at work. I think most of my problems is the restrictions they have put on my machine. All I can hope for is that get a good machine and not just the minimal for SW to run.
Vista and Win8 were total dogs with regard to SW. We have a guy here that makes the selections with computers and I just have a sit down with him when it comes to ordering new machines. We make sure we get something that is better that just the minimum.

When you go into Win explorer what does it have as your opening program? Does it have it as SW2019 or SW launcher?

Have you tried un-registering and re-registering the DLL files yet?
To add to Danny's response, make sure that your File Associations in the Control Panel are set to use the SOLIDWORKS Launcher application (default location is C:\Program Files\SOLIDWORKS Corp 20XX\SOLIDWORKS\swShellFileLauncher.exe)

Okay my files are not associated however I can not change the association the ok button is grayed out

I am on Win7 with 2018. I can see the icons in Explore but not in Outlook when I go to attach the files from there. It is a big pain. I have tried everything I can think of even to reinstall Microsoft office and Solidworks. If there is a solution to this I will like to know as well. I will be getting a new computer this year since Win7 will be done soon. I am the last in my office still on Win7. I am not looking forward to Win10.
