After creating a lofted bend there is no option for changing the K factor for one or all of the bends (bump formed style). There is no way to check to see what the K factor is after creating the loft bend.
Then when creating a edge flange after the loft Solidworks creates the edge flange with the K factor of the lofted bends and not the default.

Lofted bend is a bend operation. The K factor is there initially but once you accept it you can't go back and change the K factor for the loft bends.
The first sheet metal feature created sets your values, once OK is clicked, the settings get pushed to the "sheet metal folder".
We started a new part template set up for 16 ga so it already had the K factor on the template. If we create a lofted flange there is initially a place to change the K factor but you cant go change the K factor after. When I delete out the sheet metal from the start the K factor drives the lofted bend. However when I create the lofted bend with the template the K factor in the initial sheet metal command does not drive the Lofted Bend (The link is broken) and bends after that are created with the K factor linked to the lofted bend (which you cannot change).
If it start with the template, create a lofted bend and then change the K factor the over part doesn't change.
the .27 is the "global" k-factor set in the template, when you create the loft you are 'overriding' the global k-factor with a body specific one (.5). If this is the workflow you want to use, simply DO NOT select the override k-factor option in the loft feature, it will then take in the .27 set in the sheet metal folder.
Thank you, I think I understand. Once last thing. When creating a Edge Flange AFTER the loft with global settings at .27 and the loft (Sheet-Metal4) at .5 the edge flange comes in at the .5 not the global settings. Does this sound right?

If the edge flange is part of the lofted body, then it will take in any parameters set by the first feature to create that body (the loft) no matter if it's set to global or to override.
set global folder to .27 > don't touch override buttons in loft feature > everything has .27 k-factor now > if you need to change - open global folder and change > override parameters should be used for the exceptions not for the general.
If I can make a suggestion: delete the sheet metal folder in your templates, then when designer goes into a new SM part, they set the parameters on the first SM feature (creating the global folder), and that's it. These different body folders under the SM folder are for multibody part design, where different gauges are used in the same part file. Keep in mind if you have a k-factor that you want to change on 1 specific bend, you can always apply a different k-factor for only that bend.
You have to perform a bending operation. Forming does not require a K-factor because you are not bending parts, but deforming.
