not unlike most companies, I have assemblies that have different configurations.
I know I can very easily create a new configuration and simply change, for example, the rear housing of my part to create a separate new assembly.
however, suppose I have a bunch of other parts in my assembly and the only difference is my rear housing. I use the same screws, and other internal features in each configuration.
when I make my first assembly, I just assemble the rear housing, install the screws and other parts, and call it done. then, I make a new configuration and add the new rear housing keeping all the other parts because they all go in the exact same locations. But, because I suppress the first rear housing, all my other components are now floating rather than being locked in place because my mates are now suppressed.
what's the best way to handle this? do I need to literally add each component to my assembly again for the second configuration?
Thanks
