Additional Trim in Weldments (i.e. shortening for an endcap without an endcap)

Hey Gang - Looking for some help with something a little odd.

I do a fair amount of work with aluminum extrusion profiles as 'wedlments' which works wonderfully, but I would like to be able to have an additional trim offset for structural members with exposed ends. Because the 'end caps' (what we normally be used in a weldment) are a separate part, I don't want to add them in the part file.

OR I could add them in the part file and just place the actual endcap part over the top of them in the assembly, except SolidWorks does not like the complex geometry of the extrusion profile when I try to add a 3mm 'endcap' feature.

I just want the exposed profile end (the end of the two long horizontal members shown above) to be set back 3mm with an easy to do command. That way my endcaps are flush and the structural member is the correct length in the cutlist.

Grateful for any help - Thanks!
