How to specify a wire route in Solidworks Electrical 3D

Question asked by Sandro Pellizza on Jan 14, 2019

Hello everyone,

I'm Sandro and I'm facing the problem of specifying the wire path inside Solidworks Electrical 3D: I have defined the electrical connections and properties of the cable in the schematic of Solidworks Electrical and then opened the project in Solidworks Electrical 3D and imported the parts. When I run the cable routing the cables are correctly created from the connectors but they completely ignore the 3D line sketch I made to specify a 3D routing path. I also receive the warning that no routing path has been found.

The final result is shown in the attached figure. The 3D sketch line that should define the cable route is the axis of the cylinder in the picture. Am I missing some definition on the 2D schematic or the 3D model?

Do you have any suggestion to solve this problem? The goal is to route the wire through the cylinder

Thank you very much,

Sandro
