I am trying to make drawings/assemblies of wiring harnesses from as built notes/sketches. I do not want to go through the trouble of actually routing the wiring in my final assembly. I would like to create a harness (with routing add in) in an assembly of its own. Is this possible? My vision for a final harness drawing would have a BOM which includes wire specs, connectors/contacts, shrink tubing and any other pertinent info. I am new to routing so maybe someone can point me to documentation on how to get started.
Perhaps you can consider using SOLIDWORKS electrical, software support to draw wiring harness schematic diagram, and according to the schematic into automatic wiring, wiring path can be set freely. Finally, wiring harness engineering drawings can be made by wiring results, and bill of materials and wiring list can be made.
