I'm trying to make a zonal section view of a part, but the "Zonal" option under "Section Method" is greyed out (see attached screenshot). Tried various approaches but can't get it to work. Am I missing something here? I have SW 2018 Pro x64 SP 0.1
This is typically caused by issues with shaders. Try opening system options by going to "Tools>Options", then the Performance tab, and at the bottom turn off "Use software OpenGL". You will have to close out of any SW documents that you have open however. Then open your part and try this again.
Thanks for the suggestions - unfortunately that option was already off! I tried it on and off again, and restarted SW, but no change. I've attached a screenshot of my performance settings, if that might reveal anything.
I'm not sure what else to try then, is this a part or an assembly? Otherwise you could try saving your settings through "tools>save settings" and then resetting your settings to see if that fixes it, and if not you can just reload your settings.
Thanks for the suggestion - I tried resetting the settings but again no joy. It might well be something to do with my low-end graphics card (I have a rather budget Dell Inspiron laptop), although when SW can do a normal section view, it's hard to see why it can't do a zonal one as well.
Check if your graphic card is approved and tested for SW and also has the correct driver. https://www.solidworks.com/sw/support/videocardtesting.html

Could it be ZGT?
Can you move the plane just a tad.
The problem happens with any part or assembly, even just a simple cube, so it's not zero-thickness issues.
Thanks - I have a rather "budget" Dell Inspiron laptop so it could well be a graphics card issue.
