Good luck to all, firstly.
I've created a simple profile and a path(helix) for a thread (with swept cut), which doesn't work.
Can anybody help on this?
Have a nice day/night/afternoon, anyways
You need to change your sketch Cut Profile or make the Helix Pitch a little bigger - the sketch overlaps
Thanks so much John!
It started showing the preview, but still got this.
I truly appreciate you my friend
Look what happened (2 pics)
You need to "Extend" your sketch "Past" the Bolt Blank, the out edge of your sketch is right at the edge of the Bolt Blank and it's leaving just a sliver of material...
Yup that's was I did it...and modify the order of operations...
Here you got....
Thanks my friend,
Trying to do it now, on my 2015 SW....you have the newer, heard can do threads immediately, cool.
It doesn't matter what version you have, you still need to design your "Cut Profile" to not overlap and you also need to extend the sketch beyond the body...
no, the thread profile does not need to extend outside of the shaft. at least for constant helical cuts - the variable bit may be cause extra twisting.
Hi my friend,
Can you send me the corrected file? I must run out shopping and will try it bit later.....(and if you can save as 2015 file if relevant)
Si Solutions - you would be better off correcting your sketch and learning what works then having someone send you a model... just sayin
100000% just got stuck with the simplest thing. Thanks buddy
Where I learned it from is from this YouTube video, seemed to me the diameter of the bolt and the profile are the same.
Thanks anyways for everything.

Be well, good to see good people, all of you here
I will send you but I use SW2018SP3. I don't has SW2015 Sorry
Thanks anyways, appreciated anyways
I managed to do it, but still didn't understand what were the messages on "bodies to keep" etc. Reminded me when I had a circular pattern and I had to check merge bodies and I don't think it was an option here so didn't get why the "keep bodies" thing showed up.
In any ways, I'd like to THANK YOU ALL for being so wonderful, G_D bless you,
I do not know whether I am correct but it seems this sketch is going to do two jobs:
-Cutting a thread
-Going to reduce the final diameter of the screw.
Why can’t you decide the diameter of the screw and simplified the sketch.
Thank you very much Maha Nadarasa.
If I reduce the vertical dimension (on the right) smaller than the pitch of the helix/screw, the initial diameter of the screw will remain.
Will try again.
have you guys heard about the Thread feature ? (just discovers that)
Quite neat, but not perfect :
Thanks. I think SW 2015 doesn't have it but cosmetic thread...
You have many lines overlapping over a line. This is also an issue. Video is attached
