SolidWorks Lines/Circles don't begin at cursor, instead starting a few mm lower. How can I try to fix this issue?

I've been messing around in the settings trying to find a solution to this problem but not having any luck sadly. My issue is that whenever I start a sketch and draw a line, the line usually begins a couple mm below the cursor instead of right at the tip of the cursor where it should.

I first installed the SolidWorks 2018 student edition when I encountered this error. After being unable to find a solution online, I uninstalled it and download the 2016 student edition instead which ended up still having the same problem. Any help solving this issue would be much appreciated.

EDIT: Tried resetting to default SolidWorks settings but that did not work either.
