Re: File sort by file extension
John Wayman Nov 29, 2018 10:55 AM (in response to Mark Kraabel)Mark,
Surely, if you sort by file type, then the files will be all the .sldasm, all the .slddrw, then all the .sldprt, but, crucially, within the file type groups they will be in filename order. I think that is what happens in Windows 10, anyway.

Re: File sort by file extension
Frederick Law Nov 29, 2018 11:49 AM (in response to Mark Kraabel)Something wrong with the file type.
Either SW install didn't set it correctly or Windows registry is corrupted.
You have sldasm and slddrw as Sldworks 2018 Application.
sldasm should be Solidworks Assembly Document.
slddrw should be Solidworks Drawing Document.
Try a repair on Solidworks.

Re: File sort by file extension
Joey Johnson Nov 29, 2018 12:30 PM (in response to Mark Kraabel)You need to add a column for the "file extension". Right now you are sorting by "document type". Right click next to "Type" and select "More", then select "File Extension".

Re: File sort by file extension
Tom Gagnon Nov 29, 2018 12:43 PM (in response to Joey Johnson)That is not the case. Type is the correct term. Frederick listed correct values to show in Win 7 Windows Explorer. My column Type lists things correctly as explained. Furthermore, neither Extension nor File Extension is available to Choose Details as you describe.
