New Dell Computer

I just got a new computer for running SW 2009. It is a Dell Precision T3400. It has Intel Core2 Quad CPU and 4GB of memory. It is also loaded with XP Pro x64 edition. My question is with all of the above mentioned features any idea why they would have sent it with an NVIDIA Quadro NVS 290 Graphics Card? To my understanding this is a 2D card. Why put a 2D card in a hopped up system that was specifically built for Solidworks? My IT guys ordered the system and I sent them the link for the Solidworks requirements, it sounds like they did pretty good on everything but the GC. I am thinking about having them swap out the GC for a Quadro FX-series card. Any thoughts? Should I stick with nVidia or go with a different kind of card?
