Is there a way to keep the part's origin from moving when exporting to a step file?
check the Output Coordinate system, make sure it is set to the correct one.
I have had issues with this before and had to cheat to make it work.
Thank you for your response! I actually would like to export with a different coordinate system as seen below. When exporting to this to a step file and saving it under the new coordinate system, the origin tends to move I'm just wondering why this happens? Or if there's a way of keep the origin put? Thanks again!
I don't know why it happens, must be a SW thing.
creating a new Coordinate System and use it for export does not always work the way it should.
workaround I have used, place your Part or Assy. in a new dummy Assy. at a location that you require and export.
Cool, thanks a bunches!

There's a work-a-round..
export.. reimport... export again
see Export Step File with New Coordinate System
Thanks Rob! This will work. I think I just figured out why it happens. It seems the part origin becomes the new coordinate system origin. Also seems like the part origin is the global origin in SW. Not too sure though . Before export... After export...
