Feature name mismatch between configs?

I have a complex LH/RH part with a left and right config (actually default and RH)

Losing track of what was what I decided to rename all the features with the name ending in BOTH, RH or LH.

So having done that to all the features with the default config active, I then go to my RH config and - unexpectedly, all the features are not renamed at all!

Activate the default config and the renaming is there (Phew, but oh er...

No amount of rebuilding, saving, closing and opening would correct this feature naming mismatch between configs.

In the end, utilizing the new names - I deleted the RH config and recreated it, then went through and corrected the suppression state according to the renaming - and eventually got everything correct again.

Phew, I cant afford for this complex part to get screwed up!

SW2016 SP5.0

subsequent renaming of one or two features carries through across both configs as it should. But there appears to be a bug where if you rename many features in a complex part the feature names can get out of step across configurations.

Has anyone else seen this issue?

Its the split halves of this handle/housing that are complex.
