After a 2017 upgrade from 2015 we are getting this error message when we try to open files. Does anybody know what went wrong and how to fix it?
Did you check on your Solidworks Explorer if it has broken path?
Thanks for your response. I'm not the system admin guy. Just a frustrated user trying to find the answer but let me add to the scenario. We are able to open some files that were created up to a certain date and that's it.
Ok the only thing is run a Solidworks RX and send this ticket to your VAR....sorry fella....
Thanks Ruben. I guess our VAR is involved right now so I'll leave it to them. Thanks again!!
No problem buddy....I hope your VAR could fix it ASAP.
Have a great day!
We had a similar issue after upgrading from 15 to 16 a few years back. It was related to shortcuts and other file location stored locally. If we selected a previous used link, it would give the error. We just re-made all links to folder and refrained from using shortcuts till they were out of the memory. the other solution was to purge the vault cash, or get-latest prior to opening the file & opening directly from the file.
