Hello everyone. As my first new thread, allow me to introduce my use case with SolidWorks. A new licensee as of two weeks ago, I will be using SW18-19 roughly as follows ... ~20% modeling, ~75% "3d rendering" for client interactions and marketing content (Visualize / Radeon Pro Render / Unreal Engine), and ~5% CFD and FEA analysis. As a one-man shop, I am looking to build a capable yet cost efficient system ... and herein lies my question.

Initial indications on the rendering piece tend to point toward Nvidia CUDA to align with the Visualize application, yet I am seeing some impressive performance and potential cost savings from AMD platforms which drive Radeon ProRender, and then also Unreal Engine.

This is an interesting thread from from Alin Vargatu of Javelin Technologies ...

Am I correct in understanding that "modeling" piece continues to be a linear-based operation relying on CPU muscle, while the rendering side is opening up to both AMD and Nvidia configurations?

THANK YOU for any and all support for this novice inquiry.
