Hello all,
I am having a problem trying to mate a hook spring into holes while getting it to look dynamic for animation. I confess that I only know how to make a very basic hook spring (like you see in most tutorials) but beyond this, no clue.
Basically, the hook spring is supposed to connect the inner pole to the upper arm of the hook, inside the hole in the cylinder (1st pic) to a hole in the body (2nd pic). Unless SW 2017 has updated its spring animating features or there's a motion analysis tool I'm not aware about that can make hook springs extend like in real life, not sure what to do. I thought of 3D sketching the spring directly onto the assembly (to establish relations to the holes and update the spring as I move the hook arm) so I can sketch the hooks into the holes. Thing is I don't have concrete dimensions for the spring's nominal/hook diameter and also, the axis of the hook and the body of the spring are on different orientations, so I ruled that method out, which was the only thing I could think of.
Any ideas?
