I'd like measure to measure the distance between the center of two spheres.
I'd like measure to measure the distance between the center of two spheres.
(If Measure tool does not provide Center to Center for spheres..)
I would do this with a 3D Sketch. 1 line, 2 relations to sphere component origins or sketch points, and 1 driven dim.
Delete afterward if not required to reference later.
Welcome to the forum.
Awesome! thanks. Any idea what I'd do to get the XYZ dimensions from center to center rather than just the length?

Look in the screenshot I posted above, just below the red box. They're 8", 0, and 0 in that example.
Heck....if you are adding reference points.....then just add a 3d sketch line. Then you don't even have to use the measure tool....just select the line.
Nevermind.....apparently the only relation you can add from the endpoint of a 3D sketch line is "On Surface".
So, you would have to add reference points or use the original sketch centerpoint to add the relation to the 3D sketch line.
(I used the origin of these two parts to constrain my 3d sketch line to...so it was easy.....but if you didn't have that....then a reference point is the way to go)
So it would add a step....but would be easier to measure.
Very great guys I appreciate the help. When I create the the points the show up as sketch in the tree. Not a point like yours show....I'm doing something wrong...

It sounds like you inserted sketch points inside a sketch. I was talking about reference points. The sketch points will likely work as well, though may take a little longer to set up.

Spheres that are imported don't.

Mr. Stoltzfus and Mr. Pihlaja:
Forgive my ignorance, but I create a sphere as a semi-circle sketch, revolved.
Do you mean the midpoint of the revolve axis line as the point to use for measure? Or something else?
Is there a better/alternate method to create a sphere?
Kevin

That arc has a centerpoint
Can't you get what you want by activating the Measure tool and selecting each sphere?
