First impression would be graphics card issue for sure!
Are all your computer specs to the recommended SolidWorks requirements? Including your graphics card?

Is this a new install or a existing install and it's just started happening?
Have you done any updates lately or had any updates occur in the background automatically?
Post what ALL your computer specs and hardware (graphics) specs are, along with O/S and SolidWorks version.

Turning on "software Open GL" bypasses your graphics card (as I understand it), so if that fixed the issue then it means the problem is with your graphics card or its driver.

Okay, just a little humor. Wish I could offer some help.
Once again, was the machine running SW perfectly well before or is this a new install?
