Is it possible to combine attribute names for a single block

    Jason Hogue

Our autocad users want to start using the smarts of PDM.  They have asked me to get the dwg attribute data into our data cards.

This is ok for all of the dwg attributes except one.  They use 2 individual attributes to define the drawing title.  Is it possible to combine these two attributes into a single attribute name in PDM.

Here is a screen shot of shot of what I tried.  If I enter in TITLE_LINE_1 it works but I need to add TITLE_LINE_2 to the description.

      Thanks,

      Jason

You'll have to map two seperate PDM Variables to the two seperate AUTOCAD Attributes.

Then, create a third variables that will concatenate them. The concatenation function will be done on the data card, variables properties, not directly on the variable itself.   There is a variable property (in the data card editor interface) called 'Input Fomula'. Ir might only available in PDM Professional. Quite often PDM admins miss it because it's at the very bottom of the interface.Data Card Concatenation.png
