So I'm Trying to design an air inlet. I created tapered extrusions to link the inner surface (a revolution) and the outer surface (a loft). What I'm trying to do it do a cut loft that will remove the excess material from the outer part of my piece. I'm trying to remove the triangles outside of the outer piece.

Delete face is a powerful tool. Otherwise copy & cut with surface.
Roll back to just after you created the lofted shaped feature. Select the outer surface of the loft, make an offset surface of zero value, use this surface to cut with surface later on to remove those outer excess triangle shapes, then delete the surface body.
Or model this in a 1/2 or a 1/4 portion, them mirror or pattern it out to complete the item. The triangle shapes could be extruded up to surface (outer or inner surface of the loft).
Hello Logan,.. the easy way is to Offset Surface (0, copy) the outer Face and then later Cut with Surface.. image attached..
I made it by myself and it looks you don't need to cut nothing at all.
Yes! I was wondering why Extrude end condition To Surface was not chosen, as that is the meaningful effect. Ruben's file can be examined, to emulate feature settings.
@Logan, extruding this a little differently eliminates the need for outer trims and/or additional features. Making something only to undo it later is a clustered recipe leading towards horror-show designs. Sometimes it is warranted, if the workflow has spanned a long time and many revisions, for example. Starting simpler is always a good thing.

If there is anything you take away from this thread, take that and run with it. Sometimes that means completely starting over. I do it all the time. See how Ruben Balderrama modeled it? Try that.

It looks like the delete face was absolutely the easiest and fastest method. I'm not super great at solid works and have only been using it for about a year so I'm still learning but appreciate all the help.

I suspect that you probably came to the wrong conclusion.
Attach your *.sldprt file here and someone will demonstrate a more efficient technique - using your dimensions.
Hi Logan,
You haven't attached your model here, so this is just guess work BUT, if your triangular extrusions are extruded from the centre of the model then you could just edit the extrusion so that it is "Up To Surface" and then select the inside surface of your cone. That way the extrusions will not protrude externally and you won't need any trimming or lofted cut. Of course, this is all dependent on your where your sketch planes are (hopefully centred).
