i would love to know how to measure the surface area of a knurled profile of a screw head?
Have you tried to 'window' select all the surfaces?

Alternatively you could get the mass properties and subtract the remainder of the surfaces which you are not interested in.
Select all faces what do you want to has the measure and go to measure tool

This is the profile I am working on and I want the surface area of the area highlighted in blue. I tried doing it in tools mode but doesn't come up
I see the problem....go to bottom right arrow (this must expland data measure)

Can you click on the Evaluate tab & select mass properties?
If you already have that area highlighted in blue selected....then go to your surfaces tab and offset surface to 0"
This will make a copy of those surfaces and drop it all into 1 surface body.
Then hide your solid body and select the surface body from the tree....
Then run mass properties under your evaluate tab....should give you the surface area.
Suppress the knurl and patterns (or fill in with a revolve) and calculate the total surface area. Subtract this value from the total part surface area before the knurl was suppressed. If your knurl is pointed, the difference is the surface are of the knurl faces.
Yes but how do i get the values of knurl pattern from CAD ?
