Getting really tired of fighting this ...
Updating from SP2 to SP4 Failed
Status 149 0 "Product:SOLIDWORKS ErrorCode:1706 Product:SOLIDWORKS 2018 SP04"
Anyone any clues.
Did you first download ALL the files, saving to a local disk location and then do the install from there instead of using the download and install.
I always do the full download (4th option button shown in the image the Ned Hutchinson shows) first and then install from there.
Much faster to do over if you have a problem and you also have the COMPLETE copy of files on your system in you need to reinstall or make changes. Also, download is done in the background and you are not tying up your screen doing a slow download and install.
I cant help notice that you are using Installation Manager SP3.0, while you say you are upgrading to SP4.0. Perhaps you are running a wrong version and it considers the other installation files to be wrong.
Can you try the administrative image option?
After trying 2 or 3 times to do SP2 to SP4, out of desperation I tried SP2 to SP3 with same fail.
I installed 2018 from Disc and had no problems going to SP2. Disc has no stratches as has only been used once.
I will try Ricks suggestion of downloading all files and cross my fingers and toes and anything else I can think of...
I have to say that a message saying it cannot find some source files is completely unhelpful by programming geeks at DS.
Then having to go searching for log file for some meaningless error code number (to me), which still does not tell me what "source files not found".
I always do it the Rick McDonald method and haven't had a problem.
