can a SW beta 2019 file be opened in SW 2018 SP 2.0?
No, if at all possible, it will not be able untill 2018 SP5
so you are not sure if drawings can be saved in beta 2019 at all? If so, why would I wanna try it?
Try is the keyword.
You are not using it for production.
Just try new features and test current projects to see if there is any improvements or problems.
Also make sure to use a copy to test. Knowing you can't open it in older version once saved.
Thanks for the pro advice, but I'm not into playing with something I use 12 hours a day
A true and tested answer would be the keyword.
Beta is not a released version.
It's a test for bugs release.
Nobody should use it 12 hours a day on production work.
2019 is on SP0 now.
What happens in beta stays in beta.
Beta discussions should not occur here.
J. Mather - According to Richard Doyle Beta is open for discussion
Thanks for the heads-up on that.
Besides that beta is closed. As of yesterday SW2019 SP0 is available.
Solid Air - Thanks for the Update
Solidworks warns you NOT to use Beta versions for your daily production work. Period.
They even go so far as to say only use the Beta on copies of your files just in case.
