Can you insert one and use pattern for others?
Yes that would be a option, but sometimes all holes weren't created at the same time in the same feature, that's the main reason i'd like to keep it to the feature name.
I guess I'm really looking to go through the feature tree and insert a "plug" in any hole containing "1/4 (0.25) Diameter", then insert the part into the plate part, making the plug concentric to the hole, and mating the face the hole was created on with the plane called "plugface" in the plug detail being inserted.
I attached reference files for the parts in question...if you wanted to take a look.
I also attached what i hope to achieve in the file labeled completed.
So... When you insert a part using the User Interface it doesn't position it either. It only does so if you check the box for "Locate part with Move/Copy feature", which actually just launches Move/Copy immediately and puts it as a sub-feature of the insert.
You will need to insert your part, then create a Move/Copy Bodies feature, then get its FeatureData object and use its AddMate method to add the mates you want.
Thanks for the input. I can see that working...it would still give me the desired outcome.
Ive been looking to for a way in the API to get the plane and diameter of a selected Holewizard hole, any ideas?
