Re: Sheet metal cupboard mating with framework
John Stoltzfus Sep 24, 2018 7:45 AM (in response to Jason Steen)Jason Steen - Welcome to the forum
Is it possible?? Absolutely, but first it would be good to know your SolidWorks knowledge and history of use. The process that I use is called the Skeleton Sketch Part process, go to the homepage of the forum and search for Skeleton Sketch Part or SSP..

Re: Sheet metal cupboard mating with framework
Jason Steen Sep 24, 2018 1:08 PM (in response to John Stoltzfus)Thanks for the reply.. I'm not a professional but i dip in and out of solidworks at work. I use a different programme to everyone else at the moment. thanks for the link.
There is also an additional issue, I would like to be able bring in any pre-built cupboard (in library with all relationships and mates built in), and just be able drop it into the frame and it automatically adapts to the frame without repairing or adjusting mates. I know the mates would have to pre exist in the frame as well as a library part. I would like to get to a stage of point and click if at all possible?

Arthur McRae Sep 24, 2018 2:17 PM (in response to Jason Steen)You can eventually get to that stage we pre-defined relations and such. It has the potential to be allot of work depending on workflow and intent.

Re: Sheet metal cupboard mating with framework
Jason Steen Sep 25, 2018 4:46 AM (in response to Arthur McRae)You've given me hope then. I knew it would take a lot of foundation work to get the project off the ground, if it could be done at all. I just needed to know it could be done, before i take up the challenge
Now i'll ask my boss if i can look into it further. Thank you
