There's something I want to do with Solidworks 2017 and I can't figure out how.
I have a sketch on a surface of my model, and I want to make an Extruded Cut out of it.
However, I want to limit the area that I cut to a certain rectangle. My sketch has around 100 shapes, many of which are in awkward position, and I want to tell Solidworks "Make an extruded cut on this surface, but only within this rectangle. Ignore all shapes that are out of the rectangle. If a shape intersects the border of the rectangle, cut only the section of it that's inside the rectangle."
I know I can do that manually by drawing the rectangle in my sketch and carefully selecting the right contours, but since I have a 100 shapes, I want to know whether Solidworks has a way to do that more automatically.
Thanks for your help!
