when i try this in SWX2018SP4 it only needs a rebuild. No editing necessary...
Do you use an older version?
Is it linked directly, or is there a equation in between?
I`m a bugs magnet.:)
The file is attached. The sketch is linked to custom property which is linked to $PRP:"SW-File Name". I think it is a problem.
I know from weldment experience that the best (shortest) path is to "SW-BOM Part Number" which is linked to $PRP:"SW-File Name".
"SW-BOM Part Number" is calculated for sure. There are problems (values are not calculated immediately) with other properties including $PRP:"SW-File Name".
So, I think there is no recursion mechanism in SW to get final result and I have to link sketch text to $PRP:"SW-File Name" or $PRP:"SW-BOM Part Number" directly.
In the part that you have attached... each time after it's saved with a new name it is enough to rebuild the part to get text updated with current file name.
I would recommend linking the text directly to the filename - why add a "corner" in the way?
But - as Krzyztof mentioned - there is only the need for a rebuild. And it doesn't matter, if the filename is linked in the text or trough a file property...
So i don't see any problem and no bug at all...
Many thanks to all of you, you help me to understand the real problem of this issue.
The difference is that I used Pack&Go command to save my project with renaming all parts (m17->m18).
If I use "save as" command everything is OK (as in your case)!
Try to use Pack&Go please, what you`ll get?
OK, thanks, I`ll change my computer
