If you want the information different from the original to the mirrored part - uncheck these boxes
John Stoltzfus Hi John!
Long days after coming to SW forum. Actually, this functionality is only given in SW 2018. I am using SW 2016 and I linked the custom properties of the parent to the mirrored part. Now. how I can remove the link for all the properties.
What I tried is,
In feature tree, Right-click the parent part name and edit the same. And in that window, deselecting the custom property tick box and given ok. But, the link is not going and custom property is still selected in the edit window. I don't want to link the property.
Give any idea/ workaround to resolve this issue.
Thanks in Advance!
Vinoth Kumar N.
Good to hear from you again..
I don't have 2016 maybe Deepak Gupta can help you..
What setting do I need to change so that the column with the boxes show up so I can Link or Unlink the property to the original mirrored part? That column with the little check mark boxes is not showing up for me.
Looks like your units and decimal places are different in the two parts. 40,9kg and 40,86kg could very well be exactly the same if you show only one decimal in the mirror part. Also 3124 METERS are the same as 3124000 MILIMETERS if those are your units.
Btw. Please don't use capital letters throughout your post. You will probably get more responses if you don't.
I used same units and decimal places in both the parts.
Are both parts (original and mirrored) created from the same template?
I was thinking that maybe one template has units and decimals set slightly different.
Something is wrong and with a description (compare 150x75 and 150x65 in BOM).
I think your BOM is not in an actual state, update it or delete and insert a new one.
Mass is wrong too.
All mirror parts are having same issue. you compare 2 different part.
and i think, nothing wrong with BOM . Because as you can see in screenshot, part custom properties have 3700 & 3700000.
Upload your original part please
there is something wrong in solidworks mirror.
Unit of length in original part is mm and when i mirror that part i have to select meter instead of mm to get same value.
so temporary I override value in properties.

Never, never, never override stuff. That should have been a warning that something was wrong to start with!
