I work with t-slot aluminum extrusion. Everyone is probably
familiar with it. I've created a library of sketches (profiles) and
use weldments on 2D and 3D sketches. It all works wonderfully.
I have fasteners that screw in the bore of the extrusion. I can mate each fastener by hand but obviously this is time consuming, so I currently work up the frame and associated "stuff", then just count how many fasteners I need.
Do you suppose there's a way to somewhat automate the fastener mates in an assembly? Maybe drag the fastener over the bore, the click the outside face of the extrusion to orient it?
I've looked on these forums
I found Smart Mates
I found Mate references
What else? I swear there's a way to do it, but I can't seem to come up with it.
I'm going to keep looking, but any ideas would be appreciated.
