So I came across a blog that said SolidWorks is offering free eCourses until 21st September, but when I logged into MySolidWorks the courses were still in grey? What do you ACTUALLY have to do to get the free eCourses?
Unfortunately, only commercial CAD subscription users are eligible.
So, no, you will not have access.
I have been following e-Courses. Yesterday also I logged in but I have SWX subscription.
Welcome to the forums. This is a great resource for all things SW. So be sure to search here and post any questions you may have.
I think Maha Nadarasa has answered your question. I believe you have to be on "subscription" to access them. "Subscription" means that you are paying a yearly "maintenance fee" that allows access to "Value Added Reseller" assistance as well as free yearly upgrades. If you are on subscription, your VAR should be able to help you set up an account to access the ecourses.
If you are a student, I believe you should be able to access those ecourses, too. I just don't know how that is done. Are you a student?
Hi, thanks for your reply, I am a student and have a SW educational licence
Did you enter your serial number when you created an account?
Unfortunately, the person with SW I would normally reach out to, to direct you on how to access these courses just retired.
I know J. Mather teaches SW. Hopefully, he will see this thread and direct you to who you need to ask.
I'll also ping Joy Garon andEli Mather. They work for SW and posted to a couple of ecourse threads.
The ecourses are definitely worth it, if you have access.
I did enter my serial number when creating an account and that would be amazing if they replied, thanks so much!
Well, it may be that students don't have access. That would be a shame.
Do you have access to the other training material under Training>Lessons? At a minimum you should be able to access the "Guest" lessons. But, I'd hope you also have access to the "Standard" ones, too.
Thank you for your feedback and for your interest in MySolidWorks eCourses.
As others in the forum have correctly answered, the current promotion requires an active paid SOLIDWORKS CAD subscription. Student licenses are not eligible for this promotion.
As a Student you have access to the entire library of the MySolidWorks Product tutorial videos available here:
Training Lessons | MySolidWorks
I hope this answers your question!
