    Making Chamfer Dimensions Parametric

    John Wayman

I have a user who likes to put notes like:

      in his drawings.

There is nothing fundamentally wrong with doing so, as far as I can tell, except that the '2' has to be counted and manually inserted. It is therefore not parametric.

Personally, I tend to put 'TYP' and leave the machinist to figure out how many there are, if he is interested. I can see, however, that there are circumstances in which it is helpful to point out the quantity of such a feature.

Is there a way to produce a note like this, but with a parametrically generated '2'? Of course, it could be '6' or '23', or any other figure, depending on circumstances.

There is the 'num_inst' function that gets put into patterns of holes, etc. I am looking for something similar.
