Toolbox Configurator - Hole Wizard - Helicoil "Helical Inserts" Column Terminology Questions

    S. Casale

This is likely a question to be answered by the SolidWorks folks

I am trying to add a 0-80 helical insert to the toolbox configurator - hole wizard. I am trying to establish what the column information is looking for.

Correct me if I am wrong please:

      1. Tap diameter, I assume is the OD of the helical insert
      2. Tap Drill Diameter is the drill dia.
      3. Thread Depth is the single depth of a 1X dia insert

I am not sure what is being represented by:

      1.      DRILL_DEPP
      2.      DRILL_DEPB

      Any insight is appreciated.

          1. Tap Drill Diameter is the drill dia. correct
          2. Thread Depth is the single thread depth of a 1X dia insert. correct

I am not sure what is being represented by:

          1. DRILL_DEPP is the default drill depth for PLUG STI
          2. DRILL_DEPB is the default drill depth of BOTTOM STI

          Any insight is appreciated.

          STI:

          Standard Thread Insert

The only amusing thing I have found is that the countersink diameter presented in the tool box data is not the same diameter that is presented in the hole wizard on insertion. AN EXAMPLE: TB has 2-56 CS dia as supposed to be 0.115 when inserted presented a dia 0.1617. (I know it has a leading zero and is inch - even more silly).
