I recently updated to SW17 and it worked fine until IT updated my video drivers. Now when I pull up SW it loads fine but as soon as I try to take an action like creating a drawing the whole system crashes. Help!

Make sure you are using a SOLIDWORKS certified driver version for your setup. If you IT group installed a newer driver, it may not work correctly.
When you say that IT updated your drivers, is it the latest recommended certified driver for your video card?
There have been a number of reports here of people with similar problems, especially if they were using a non-approved graphics card. I believe your best solution will be to revert to the prior driver (or of course get an approved graphics card, if yours isn't).
