I'm trying to compare my native solidworks part files to the iges files the toolmaker has sent back as "golden files", to ensure everyone is using the most current version of everything. I was getting weird results with the compare tool so tried a test myself.
If I export my part as iges and then immediately compare to the native file, it shows a lot of differences in both geometry and surfaces. But they're mostly around fillets and other non-simple features. So I'm guessing that when the iges is created, the way the tessellation (if that is the correct term) is done creates negligible differences around the curved surfaces. So, is there a way to set a threshold on the compare tool and say only differences greater than 0.05 mm are flagged?
