Hi All,
I know there are a lot of mechanical design engineer following this forum and probably, like me, hey are asked to carry out a design failure mode and effect analysis (DFMEA) along the design process.
At the moment I do it 'by hand' using an excel spread sheet. It's fair enough and I usually start from an existing one and modify it.
I was wondering if anybody has faced the same problem and have experience in using SolidWorks to help performing FMEA.
I did a search on the internet and I've seen software companies that sell 'add-in' packages for Solidworks to do it.
I'm trying to understand if SolidWorks could help the process some way (e.g. add custom properties and populate them with relevant values, etc.) or if it's only additional work to do with respect to traditional 'excel-based' method.
Thanks for sharing your opinion.
