Use PDM not ePDM.
When cad users leave the organization and we need to disable them what is best practice?
Is there a disable user option?
It seems like I have seen the disable login but I cannot find it now.
I created a PDM group called 'No Longer Employed'. The only permission you'll want to set will be under Administrative Permissions>Refuse Login.
Then it's easy to remove the user from their existing group(s) and add them to this group.
I find this is better than deleting users as I see more users come back than I expect.
Perfect! That is exactly what I was hoping for!
We never delete them, just removed them from all groups (there are no individual permissions, only group). As you said, you never know when or why you may need that account. However, I like your suggestion much better, thanks! Opening up Admin now.
It's a nice little fail safe. IF a previous employee manages to get into the network, install the software, connect to the server, figure out the password and tries to log in to access proprietary data, PDM still can slam the door in their face.
