I'm using SW 2016.
When I edit a sketch within a part in an assembly the dimensions appear and then disappear. When I rotate the part they reappear and then when I mouse around they disappear again. Any idea what is going on?
A colleague encountered the same problem (with dimensions vanishing after a second in assembly mode while editing a part). He figured out how to fix it. The assembly and, more importantly, the part you're editing need a checkbox unchecked. Go to Options, Document Properties, Detailing, and uncheck Feature dimensions (and maybe also DimXpert dimensions--not sure about this one).
Do you have the option indicated below selected at Tools > Options? If you do then it's probably a graphics card issue. See Why am I getting weird graphics issues?
Thanks for the reply. It was checked. I unchecked the "Display dimension flat to screen" box and the problem persisted.
Attached is the Diagnostics result from SolidWorks Rx 2016.
I have seen this problem. Also common with 3d sketches. Unfortunately there are many longstanding graphics issues with Solidworks, even with the certified Nvidia drivers (I have no experience with AMD video cards with Solidworks).
Thanks, Ian. I'm glad I'm not alone. I feel alone in my office.
Tomas Ponce Thank You you fixed my problem too.
Dimensions kept disappearing on parts made from a specific template, so I knew it must have been a document property, but which one?
