why do you need to model a selfie stick. Go down to the store buy a pack of huba buba chewing gum and then go cut you a good 5 ft stick off a tree and then use the gum to stick the phone to the end of the stick. easy cheesy., or you could use some grass, I think they call it bamboo. if that is available.
OP may wish to know how much duct tape is needed. I think you cannot have too much. Use a lot.
no tape gum...two packs pass it out to friends to chew a bit then stick the two together....
then go to the schools 3d scanner and scan in your part and boom you got a 3d model.
how else do we do things....
extrude a circle for about 5 ft would be way to hard. then some way to hold a camera or a phone.

Welcome to the forums.
The first thing you should know about asking for help here is that while we are ready and willing to help anyone with Solidworks problems we're not willing to do their work for them. Especially if that work is a school assignment.
Go ahead and start your selfie stick model and when you run into problems post your questions here and attach your model so that we can see what you've done so far.
I know that you'll be happy with the response you get if you do it that way!
Of course! I don't mean that someone do this for me, i just asked it to know if someone may help me with specifically problem...
Please specify your problem.

You have not stated any specific problems you are having in SolidWorks. Show us what you have started and be very specific on what feature you are having trouble with.
Be sure to go through the tutorials in SolidWorks under Help. A selfie stick will use all the basic modeling techniques you will find in the tutorials. Also ask your instructor for some help to get you started.
As I said, post your specific questions here along with your model and we'll be glad to help.
I think Rick Becker has the expertise on that things....
