I'm tasked with creating a scale model of a truck cab. It doesn't have to perfectly match the real world part, but should be similar. Likewise, it needs to be designed such that a typical sheet metal shop will be able to manufacture from the flat patterns that I provide. I'm hoping to gain some knowledge and get a better understanding of how best to approach this project. It's a real world deliverable, and I want the customer to be impressed. Many thanks in advance!
To be clear, I am struggling with the various sheet metal tools. Adding rips and bend lines seems like a futile task at this juncture.
You will need to make decisions about where you want to Rip your panels.
Is this your first sheet metal design?
Also, you are missing a Bend or Rip about half way up the side of the "door" resulting in the material not being uniform thickness.
