i have deleted faces on a part and the tool could not patch or fill the faces. is there a way to manually fill it when i am unable to sketch on the surfaces due to it being a .stp import
Yes, definitely, I am sure that there is a way. As Tom dunn suggests, upload the model as there are different ways to do many things, depending on the complexity of the geometry.
If you absolutely can't upload it, then start with the "Filled Surface" Command
As you select each edge, you can even make the surface tangent or curvature continuous at that edge.
If that still doesn't work, then sometimes it is better to break up the patch into smaller chunks. Maybe making a spline curve that connects at the halfway point. Of even adding face curves before you delete the original surface, then delete it, then use some of the face curfves to create the new surface.
If you are trying to remove a closed profile on a surface, then sometimes the "Delete Hole" function works really well:
Hi Cora, You might be able to fix the model. Can you upload the file for us to take a look at?
it is a company file therefore i am not actually able to upload it so sorry
You can use the surface fill command or boundary surface command to create the patch, depending on complexity.
You can then merge this with the original within the commands or use a knit surface after.
Can you not post a screenshot of the trouble area?
