I deal with Truck Chassis drawings on a regular basis and often get a DXF file to model a body on to suit the truck chassis detailing holes and such.
When I import the DXF I get a very messy DXF with point all over the place as per image below.
I know I can import as 3D curves but this does not show up on the drawing view unless you convert every curve.
My question is:
Is it possible to clean up this DXF so I can get a Clean import which does not eat all my resources?
Or is there any preferred method this can be achieved to get a clean image for reference and modelling to.

Not true. You can view curves in your drawing without converting them. Just select 'Curves' in the Import Model Items' Property Manager:
