Hi, I am looking to remove the split lines on an imported solid part. There are obviously no features to remove or edit. What can be done to have no split lines for the marking on that curved face?
The delete face with patch option selected should do what you're after as long as the remaining edges are clean.
It's hard to say without trying it, and you didn't attach a file.
Do you mean the surface edges where they are knitted together not split lines? There won't be any edge when manufactured if the surfaces are tangent to each other.
If you have genuine split lines. Example - draft going in opposite direction at a certain point round a body. You will have to redraft the faces to get rid of them.
But....looking at the model you mention the curved face - do you mean the text/engraving on it? If you want to get rid of the text the quickest way would be surfacing or a add body combine feature. You could use the delete face feature but by the looks of it you will be selecting hundreds of faces (which is a pain) and it might not work.
Hello Andres,.. what I'd do is cut away the text and slots using a cut/surface/offset... (first copy/offset/0/ the top surface).. and replace face to bring the cut back.. (image/file attached)
