Is it fast enough for SW? Although it may not be supported officially, does RealView work after some change in settings?
I do not know about realview but SolidWorks will run. The more complex your model, the more the display may suffer. Good luck.
It is straightforward to add the Intel HD Graphics 620 to the list of graphics cards to get RealView to work.
SOLIDWORKS RealView – For All. Non-Approved Graphic Cards #SOLIDWORKS | Michael Lord
Hi I just bought Lenovo X1 as part of my attempts to retire with lighter machine for traveling.
It has Intel HD 620 gfxcard, 8 gig gfx mem. installed SW18 SP5
just to test if at all will work.
I do general mechanical design, not really getting into textures and realview and motion. Just part creations assemblies (can be big) etc.
I was surprised that it seems to work, I had problem with getting small icons on extended display. (text scaling did not work) so I found one tweek on web, RMB on SW icon, /properties/compatibility/change for all users/ change DPI settings/ tick HDP scaling override and choose system or sys enhanced from dropdown. This works only with 100% text scailing on the particular 24"screen and laptop. For other scaling 125 or 150 you get overlaying screens every click
Hope this helps
