Hello, I wanna wrap this to make extruded cut but encountered this problem. It says wrap features cannot be created from intersecting or open contour.
There are two issues with your sketch.
Also, from a best practice standpoint, it's generally not ideal to make a sketch pattern, feature patterns are a lot more stable and performant.
I've attached an updated model, where I used a global variable to drive the pattern instance (used in both the sketch and pattern feature). Just change the base sketch height as desired, using the global variable to adjust the width, which will in turn adjust the pattern.
I wouldn't call feature patterns more "performant" as to me that implies they are faster. They are more adjustable after they are made, but they are much slower in terms of loading the file and moving it around than sketch patterns from what I remember on complex parts.
You could be right, I suspect it depends on the application. Large sketches with lots of sketch relations tend to be much slower than feature patterns. I suspect once that sketch pattern was fully locked down it would be slow (and as you said not editable).
Not sure why my attempt isn't working, closed the contour and shortened it so it doesn't overlap itself
Oop there it is. Guess it doesn't like being at the bottom of the solid
