What is the best method to model a hole that is counterbore
then tapped thru?
Do I actually do it as 2 hole features?
How do I put the callout on a drawing?
Thank you.

I know this is an old thread but I am having the same issue. It looks like SolidWorks still hasnt added this feature to the hole wizard (2012), unless I am missing something. Is there a way to have a automatic hole callout that shows the threaded and counterbore hole? I tried to make a tapped hole then add a seperate counterbore hole, but only the threaded hole shows up in the hole callout.
BUMP!
I am looking for the same functionality as well. Many times we counterbore threaded holes or dowel holes.
It would be nice for the counterbore option to be added to all hole types and be included in the automatic hole callout.
Checking in from 2018 looking for the same feature.
In 2018 you can use advanced hole for this.
Just put in your hole with the counterbore on top then the tapped portion of the hole below it.
You'll notice at the bottom of the Advanced Hole dialog box there is now a section for Hole Callout. You can accept the default or customize the callout. There is a separate box for each part of the advanced hole. Double click in the part you want to change. You can use the symbols below or add your own text.
The picture below shows the default callout for 1/4-20 SHCS.
Thanks! I've been looking for a way to do a tapped counterbored hole. I wasn't using advanced holes because the hole callout command wasn't working well with advanced holes in previous versions of Solidworks. We just moved from 2017 to 2019, and it works pretty good now. Sweet!
NOTE: The holes have to be on the same face. They can't be on different faces on the same plane like with the hole wizard.
Tapped hole first, then CBore. On drawing specify from which surface to start the tapped hole (depth) to be clear for the machinist.
