I need to dray a 3D rebar like that photo: How I can draw this ribs? They have an specific angle that is so difficult to draw! Iam from Brazil and i will be sou glad if anyone contact me by email for I send my draws. My email is: Thanks!
..two versions, sweep and revolve using 2014. (sweep maybe not exactly like you had.. and the revolve is what make sense, imo)
Send me a complete ABNT norm and I help you, It doesn't seem too hard to make it able
Here a sample.
Can you attach the part file of what you have created so far? That way the members here can guide you properly with your own work.
Do you really need the ribs modeled on the rebar? I model rebar often, and show it in drawings, and never do. Mine are just cylindrical shapes without the ribs. They'll add a lot of surfaces, and a lot of edges and general complexity to drawing views.
Glenn is right on this (as he usually is). I glanced through ASTM A615 and they give guidance on deformation spacing and shape, but they don't completely nail it down. In other words, there is some freedom allowed in how the rebar is formed. In cases like this it may actually be bad to detail the deformations because you are telling the fabricator how to make something that in the end doesn't matter that much. Rebar deformations are meant to help adhere the concrete to the rebar. So, as long as those deformations meet the A615 spec, who cares how the fabricator makes the rebar?
Now if you are making some artwork or something of that sort, I can see needing the aesthetics. But, otherwise I'd leave all those details out.
Yeees! I need this! Can you draw for me the 3 diameters bars? I have to drar 6,3 milimiters and 8 mm and 10 mm. I have all measures of them that i am posting here!
Ok! I just post in the above reply. Thanks
Hi guys, i am doing a simulation on ANSYS bout the stresses between concrete and steel . This ribs are so important for my study. I understand what are you saying but i really need this. Anyway, if you can help me with theses draws and with Ansys i will be grateful!
Are you trying to hire someone to do this work for you, and you're willing to pay them a fair price, or do you just want someone to do it for you for nothing? If it's the first, please say so. If it's the second, please read this.
Good Afternoon Val,
So sorry to hear of your troubles with constructing the desired shape for your Rebar project.
I believe my firm, Dewdrop, Cheatem & Hold'mUp, ltd, Inc., can help you. Either me, or one of my Top Rated Associates, will be pleased to come to your site and work with you directly to construct the Rebar to you exact specifications.
As you know, the data in our files are priceless. A price cannot be put on designing such a unique and three of a kind Rebar. I have not seen such a bold project as this since I worked with the Borg. (BTW, the Borg Collective can provide you with a great reference if required)
We (Dewdrop, Cheatem & Hold'mUp, ltd, inc.) have the most advanced tools and methods possible to help you.
Just send me First Class Airfare to your destination. Arrange for ground transportation along with accommodations at the closest 4 or 5-Star hotel. A small daily stipend will be required for food and necessary accoutrements. Tipping is not required, but is greatly appreciated.
Hope to see you soon
Hi Ricl, I appreciate you job but i have no conditions to go there. I am jut a student graduating. These rebars are jus for my research , not anymore. I am not a professional working or something like this.

Val, Have you heard to saying "Give a man a fish and he eats for a day. Teach a man to fish and he eats for a lifetime"?
It would truly be a grave disservice to you if we modeled the rebar for you. What will you learn from that?
I would ask you to try and model the rebars on your own. If you get stuck on some particular feature, just post your .SLDPRT file here in the forum and I'm am sure many users will help you overcome and successfully complete the feature in question.
I am personally looking forward to seeing you rebar model.
Hey Boss I have the complete design included macro....but you must to try to find one fee before.
2D Model with Rebar
I send you a rebar what I showed you before, you must to try to understand why it's as this and modify it for each rebar as you needed.
Thank you, but my version is 2016, could you send me in this version? I cant open the archive... And how did you attach this archive here?
Val, I saved Ruben Balderrama file as a parasolid for you.
Now i can open and this is exactly what i need. But i can't see wich tool you used to make that. Was it "sweep"? I have difficult to chose what directional vector to uses it.
Yes it's sweep, tomorrow I Will send you some snapshots and you can make it by you own...here is Paul Salvador maybe He can rebuild my part on SW2016.
Did you make another sketch plane rotated in relation to the original? How many sketches have i to use? Tow skethes to do that?
I will try in words what I do it.
Extrude a round bar
Draw a 3D sketch with the correct angle and position from the origin
With the previous wires I added a auxiliary plane
Draw a arc path on previous auxiliarie plane
On one side of the arc draw a circle
Array this operation
Made mirror of the array
In the basic those ones was I did it
I understood perfectly what you did. But the section of my rib is not circular, but an arch. Also I did not understand how you did the 3d sketch.
On a 3D sketch I have a complete control of I want to make. The rib is a arc not a circle....on the 3D did you receive. Did you see a circle? Or a Arc? I will understand if you need a ellipse but remember you must only understand the reason why. Nor if it's a circle a ellipse or a square.....you can add any profile as you want to your sweep. Try to understand too with the arc path must exceed the quadrant because your rib will not seems as you want.
Paul Salvador could you show what I'm saying here?
